THE LOCAL AREA

The cathedral city of St. Asaph, with a population of less than 3,500 makes it the second smallest city in Wales, is a few minutes drive and benefits from lovely river walks; some excellent restaurants/bars; free tennis courts and games area; leisure centre and bowling green amongst other things.

We have a 9 hole golf course and driving range close by at Llannerch, and the 18 hole courses at Rhuddlan, Denbigh and Abergele are all within a 10 minute drive.

We have a riding stables on our doorstep; the factory outlet store, Tweedmill, with a superb new cafe; and Bodelwyddan Castle with its museums, lovely outdoor maze, beautiful gardens, bird hides and play area etc - something for the whole family so a great day out and just a couple of junctions along the A55 westbound.

SCENIC VIEWS

The River Elwy and Clwyd provide excellent trout and salmon fishing (permits available from Foxons in St. Asaph www.foxons.co.uk, or Londis), whilst the Elwy in particular benefits from some lovely river walks with bridges crossing at several points providing a number of circular options (and a good place to cool off on a nice sunny day if we’re lucky). There is also a very pleasant play area for children under 12 situated alongside the river and overlooked by a nice restaurant/bar.

A 15-20 minute drive can get you to the beaches of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Towyn, or Llandudno, the 'Queen of the Welsh Resorts' just a little further up the coast with it's Alice in Wonderland trail at Happy Valley, cable cars, artificial ski slope etc. You could try swimming at Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay, the Welsh Mountain Zoo or the majestic Conwy castle.

ADVENTUROUS ACTIVITIES

For those looking for something a little more adventurous, we have the BMX cycling tracks at Rhyl: www.marshtracks.co.uk where you can hire all the gear; or Crocky Trail and Manley Mere some 40 minutes drive away for those looking to get down and dirty on an adventure trail: www.crockytrail.co.uk or www.manleymere.co.uk but not for the faint-hearted.

2014 also saw the opening of the new underground trampolines at Llanberis, 'Bounce Below', well worth a trip or why not try Surf Snowdonia up the Conwy Valley with its artificial wave pool. Whatever your idea of fun, there’s something for everyone. These are just a few of our favourites.
